Fit Pro Conference - Great Experience! Posted by Kevin B. Rushton | May 02, 2009
Having just returned from one of the best educational conferences in a long time, I was blown away by the level and standards of presenters from around the world. Topics were hot, presentations current and cutting edge with many presenters and topics challenging our current philosophy and understanding of how the body works. Definitely change is ahead on the horizon.
My initial predictions are to look for several new functional training products to be launched globally in particular one by Michol Dalcourt. Secondly, the integration movement as a whole versus independent movement. Lastly, the move towards a Holistic Approach in dealing with a client is definitely in the books so start reading your Paul Check and Thomas Myers - Anatomy Trains.
Importance of Certifications Posted by Kevin Rushton | February 06, 2009
How important is it for commercial clubs in Hong Kong to have certified personal trainers? One question I get asked frequently is why re-new my certification? Why I answer, its not to fill the pockets of corporate companies but rather to re-new, re-educate and most important stay abreast of our ever changing industry trends. If we want our industry to be fully recognized as a profession, then we need to maintain, develop and pursue a strategic path in commitment to improving what we do and how we do it! By involving ourselves in education we continue to bridge the gap and develop competencies in improving our service to our client.
